As we move through Tuesday we will highlight a few of our different value plays throughout the day. Lets kick the action off in the first race to be run for the day at Leeton.
Leeton R1 #10 Vaguely Related 6.00 / 1.80 – having 1st start this direction after doing all previous racing in Victoria, suggested well up to winning a maiden of this level when 4th in a trial at Cranbourne prior to the start of this preparation, a lot of subsequent winners have come out of that trial and some of them multiple winners, franked that trial form when a good 4th at Cranbourne 1st up off the back of that trial, having 1st start for new trainer Sharon Jeffries after previously being with Greg Eurell, overall this race lacks big depth so its not the hardest affair to win, goes around as a 6.00 / 1.80 chance, rated on top as a 4.70 chance.
Leeton R3 #10 Nicotic 7.50 / 2.30 & #3 Liberty Boy 6.00 – enough value to back both of the major elects in this race for a winning result with a decent degree of confidence too, Nicotic failed last start but prior to that produced a very good 2nd to South African with big gaps further back through the field, the form references out of the race stand up from numerous lines back to Bravado Lass suggesting Nicotic has its measure, also has good scope for more, bred for this sprinting trip, the major elect, also worth backing Liberty Boy in support of the top elect in the win market only at the 6.00 on offer, won a trial prior to debut with a 10l margin to 3rd, deceivingly good speed pedigree by Statue Of Liberty out of a Grass Wonder mare.
Muswellbrook R2 #4 Uncle Sam 17.00 / 4.20 – well bred type by I am Invincible out of a Marauding mare, looks likely the penny has finally dropped after this one produced a high merit trial 2nd to potentially well above average type Maria Victoria, sat outside the leader under a solid tempo that day and battled on strong getting the better of the co-leaders whilst Maria Victoria got a soft stalking trip just off those 2 pressured lead horses, excellent value as a decent each way prospect on offer at 17.00 / 4.20, place angle is exceptionally good value.
Leeton R4 #5 Primal Dreams 6.00 / 2.00 – lightly raced improver who is trying clockwise direction for the 1st time, broke maiden tail end of last preparation over 1600m but has shown a similar ability over a shorter 1300m trip when 3rd to Wannon Warrior and Lady Annabel beaten 2.4l at Stawell the start prior, good speed pedigree by Magnus out of an Eagle Eyed mare, blinkers come off first time, drawn well in the 5 alley to a secure a good stalking trip in better than midfield, goes around as a 6.00 / 2.00 chance, rated as a 4.20 chance, minor overs to be had about a decent win betting proposition.
Muswellbrook R4 #1 Gundalina 2.30 – decently bred type by Moss man out of a Danewin mare, broke maiden tag at Scone for a $40K purse 5 starts ago super impressively by 5.8l in a strong maiden, franked that form 2nd to G1 winner Egg Tart next time out, 3rd up now ready for preparation peak run on the back of a very good 2nd last time out to Flight Risk, has significant class edge, clearly the one to beat, decent value at 2.30, qualifies as a Banker Bet.
Beaudesert R5 #1 Barraaj 3.60 – overly well bred type for this sort of trip by Ifraaj out of a Generous mare, gets in well weighted despite carrying top weight impost, this clearly easiest it has faced in some time, impressive winner over this track and distance 3 starts ago and only needs to bring that form here with same weight to prove super hard to hold out, goes around as a 3.60 chance, we have it rated as a 2.80 chance, qualifies as a Banker Bet and good overs to boot.
Beaudesert R6 #4 Drum Master 15.00 / 4.60 & #10 Overgrown 12.00 / 3.80 – enough value to back both of the top elects here and very good value at that. Drum Master is the big value top rated contender on offer at 15.00 / 4.60, he is a winner 2 of 11 and has been freshened into this after a below par effort at Gatton last time out, goes well fresh and looks to get a decent trip under the race pace scenario, minor scope for more being fairly lightly raced, the other one worth backing in support of Drum Master is Overgrown who is 1st up here (1st up record 3-1-1-1) and her NSW country form suggests she is right up to winning in this sort of company.
Leeton R7 #4 Valorhesse 3.30 – high confidence betting race where we can back the major elect Valorhesse who is looking to make it 2 wins from last 3 career starts, form out of last win stands up despite only being a field of 3 runners, simply franks and justifies good maiden a 2 starts prior, the clear cut major elect, we have it rated as a 2.50 chance so the 3.30 on offer is good overs, qualifies as a Banker Bet.
Beaudesert R7 #1 Dress Sense 6.00 / 2.00 – very well bred type especially for this sort of distance range being by Street Cry out of a Viscount mare, total forgive run last start at Toowoomba when down the track in a field of 5, run way too bad to believe, clearly superior the start prior breaking its maiden tag over 1400m at Gatton, strong form refs out of the race suggests it is clearly levels above what is required to win here, scary thing is still has scope for more being a lightly tried staying prospect, clear cut top elect rated as a 2.80 chance, offered up at 6.00 / 2.00, excellence overs and the best value Banker Bet of the day.
