Renegade Is Ready

Tony McEvoy takes his Commands 2yo to Gawler on Wednesday looking to register a debut win for the well bred colt. He was put up a 3.00 chance in early fixed odds markets and is now into 2.90 at the time of writing. We have him as the clear cut top elect rated as a 2.40 chance.

Gawler R1 #3 Renegade 2.90 – very well bred type by Commands out of the 4 time winning Encosta De Lago mare Port Isabel who herself is a daughter of the high class Zedative mare Calming, the 2yo colt is making his debut here on the back of finishing 2nd in a strong trial at Morphettville beaten in a 3 way head bobbing go with a big margin to 4th and further back, numerous form lines out of that trial suggest it is well above the level required to win what shapes as a fairly weak maiden not only from an exposed form perspective but also from a potential class level based on breeding, he draws the inside gate here and gets a 1st time lugging bit (used in latest trial 2nd), only has to perform up to that trial form level to prove very hard to beat here, from a breeding perspective should handle the heavy going ok, we have it rated as a 2.40 chance, back with a good degree of confidence as one of the good things of the day.
