Speck This 50/1 Shot Each Way

The last race on the card at Taree looks like its well worth waiting around for on Monday. We were very surprised when we finished analyzing the race to find our top rated contender being offered up at 50/1. Only Bet365 have fixed odds up for this market at the time of writing so we think it might be a bit of an error by their odds makers. We get the feeling this one will start a lot shorter come race time at 4.25pm on Monday afternoon.

Taree R8 #6 Western Saga 51.00 / 11.00 – deceivingly well bred type by Real Saga out of a Show A Heart mare who has produced 2 other foals to race including the 3 from 10 winner Vaulting Ambition, 2nd up into this race and freshened for 3 weeks after finishing well back at Muswellbrook 1st up on heavy going, total forgive run, put together 2 good wins on end at the tail end of last preparation including 3 starts over a similar distance when getting the better of Happy Go Plucky close home who franked the form coming out to win next start by 1.3l, 3rd home behind Western Saga and Happy Go Plucky was beaten 4.2l adding further good depth to the form coming out of the race, Robert Thompson jumps back on and he rode the 5yo gelding both wins last preparation, drawn perfectly, fitter now 2nd up and still relatively lightly race having only faced the starter 13 times, potential scope for more, ticks a lot of boxes for a 51.00 / 11.00 chance that we have as the top rated contender here, price definitely wont last.

Western Saga is a massive price at 51.00 / 11.00 in Taree R8 on Monday. Bet365 is the only bookie with a fixed odds market live at the time of writing so it may well be an odds-maker error and if so the price definitely won’t last!
