Rock On In The Rockingham #IrishVersion

The Rockingham Handicap at the Curragh (2.45) has a big field of 19 runners but we are confident we have it down to 3 major chances, we can back all 3 of them in the WIN & PLACE markets for a big result across the race. Sportsbet has 5 Place dividends on offer and that is the market we suggest to bet into.

Runner analysis below.

Curragh 2.45 – Rockingham Handicap

#2 Hit The Bid 13.00 / 2.70 – put it all together for the 2017 season last start winning at Listed level, form out of the race reads strong and considering it is also a 2yo G3 winner last season the 3yo Exceed And Excel colt shapes as not that bad off at the weights despite rising 8lb in the official ratings after winning last time out, still good scope for more.

#12 Young Baobei 26.00 / 4.00 – gets 1st time head gear here for 3rd start of 2017, prefer to go on form from end of last season including a 3.7l win 4 starts ago at Listed level followed by a close up 1l; 3rd to Hit The Bid, weighted to overturn Hit The Bid here on that formline, deserves one more chance being a 3yo filly with a pedigree to suggest there is more to come yet as a speed filly.

#18 Patuano 15.00 / 3.00 – lightly raced 3yo filly with a good speed pedigree by Choisir out of a Val Royal mare, picks up the famed Danehill / Royal Academy cross that has worked so well to SH time mainly, comes into this race having its 7th career start, very good 2nd to Son Of Rest last time out with a gap to 3rd, form reads strong, in well weighted, good scope for more.
