A bit of the value has been taken out of the day with Tamworth being abandoned but we still have 4 other good quality meetings around Australia to sink our teeth into across Friday afternoon. So let’s see what we can churn out for punters on Friday.
Kempsey R2 #7 Imposition 3.80 & #4 Orientex 34.00 / 11.50 – good value betting race to kick off Friday action, Imposition is the clear top elect here and the Commands 3yo filly gets in superbly weighted after the 3kg claim for Cejay Graham, go on 1st up win 3 starts ago over 1200m at Port Macquarie, made all over 1206m on soft going that day to score by 2.7l, put big margins back through a large field, good merit, on a repeat will prove hard to run down on the front end, the big value 2nd top rated contender can also be backed here, Orientex is a massive price at 34.00 / 11.50 in a race paying 2 place dividends, blinkers come off the Magic Albert 3yo gelding for the 1st time here, was very good at Orange breaking its maiden over 1000m 4 starts ago, that win franked consistent strong city trial form prior to debut, even though it has been below par last 3 starts deserves one more chance here at the massive odds, on best form in this up to its ears, blinkers off 1st time might just be the key, back each way in support of the top elect for a result across the race. (Orientex is a late scratching, refused to load)
Ipswich R3 #6 Robbers Cobber 4.00 – 3yo Star Witness gelding coming into this race having its 7th career start, total forgive run last time out 8th of 12 at the Gold Coast, prefer to go on 1st up effort 3rd of 14 when beaten 2.8l by Mount Panorama, the form out of that race has been franked time and time again with numerous subsequent winners that finished further back coming out of the race, draws perfectly here and better suited stretched out to this 1666m trip, expect it to race closer to the pace from the good alley, currently being bet as a 4.00 chance which is the right price, not a huge value factor being right on the mark price wise but does look the one to beat and warrants mild support in the win market.
Geelong R5 #2 Fast ‘N’ Rolling 9.00 / 3.00 & #11 Northern River 11.00 / 3.50 – excellent value betting race where we can back both Fast ‘N’ Rolling and Northern River both with equal confidence for a result across the race, Fast ‘N’ Rolling is the proven class runner and is expected to improve here 2nd up getting out to 1300m, Kyneton 1450m heavy win 4 starts ago suggested it is midweek city class as a minimum on the make, still lightly raced, bred in the purple by Fastnet Rock out of a very high class Jallad mare from South Africa who finished 3rd in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, equal top elect with the other we will back here Northern River who is a 2yo Ad Valorem filly out of a smart Encosta De Lago mare, she comes into this race on the back of breaking her maiden impressively last time out at Pakenham on the Synthetic surface, big margin to 3rd and 4th adds big merit to the performance, these 2 look the ones that have the scope to become city winners and potentially more, back both to win for a result across the race, from a Place betting perspective slight preference for Northern River at the 3.50 but no reason you cant back both to Place aswell as equal clear top elects.
More to follow.
