As we get towards the back end of the Queensland Winter Carnival we can expect to see a few decent horses getting around in the provincial 2yo maidens and that is the case in Race 3 at the Gold Coast on Wednesday
We have found two horses with strong speed pedigrees and the right trial form at the right prices well worth backing with equal confidence in both WIN & PLACE markets. Travers and Porcini are equal top rated here and look likely to fight the race out!
Read on below for our preview of Gold Coast Race 3 on Wednesday.
Gold Coast R3 #11 Travers 7.50 / 2.60 & #13 Porcini 14.00 / 4.20 – good quality betting race with some very nice value on offer about the equal top elects, we can back both of these runners for a result across the race, Travers failed on debut when failing to run on at the Sunshine Coast last time out, probably ridden upside down that day so it might be a blessing in disguise that it is drawn wide here basically forcing Glen Colless to go forward on it from the outset, won a trial in preparation for debut over Too Easy Bro with a big margin back to 3rd, form refs read well to suggest it is potentially well above the level required to win here, real 2yo speed pedigree by Exceed And Excel out of a Snippets mare, ticks a few boxes, equal top elect, Porcini is the other equal top elect here and the big value contender offered up at 14.00 / 4.20, another with a good 2yo speed pedigree by More Than Ready out of a Mr Greeley mare and should get the 1200m very strongly on the rain effected going especially being drawn perfectly down in the 4 alley, won a good trial in preparation for return here in a race where the form has since worked out very well to suggest it is well up to winning in this company, penny looks to have finally clicked.
