Late Mail Happy Valley for Wednesday 21 June

Another good card of racing from Happy Valley kicks off in just over an hour. We will be bringing you all of the best bets across the meetings as the night progresses.

Happy Valley R1 #1 Rugby Diamond 4.40 – Rugby Diamond only needs to jump well from the gates here to be very hard to beat. He was enormous two runs back when missed the start by 5l but charged late to only be beaten 1.8l. He was a touch tardy out last start for Zac Purton but was again strong late and only beaten 0.6l. He has drawn wide today which is a positive, if he jumps well he has the speed to cross, if he is slow out he can tuck in behind and come wide in the straight. Zac Purton sticks with him today which is a plus and he does look to have a class edge on his rivals. With even luck Rugby Diamond should get us off to a winning start here in race 1.

Happy Valley R2 #4 Letsgofree 6.50 / 2.10 & #1 Gobi Storm 13.00 / 3.60 – Letsgofree is always very genuine and never far from the money. He was strong over the line last start this track and trip and maps very well again from gate 4 and should have the sit behind the leader. Gobi Storm comes into this race off the back of decent trial form and also drops in grade. He is another who is rarely far from the money and his best runs have been at the track and trip. He has drawn wide but has the speed to sit outside of the leader. Both runners represent decent value and can both be backed for a result across the race.

Happy Valley R3 #10 Confucius Spirit 4.40 / 1.80 – Confucius Spirit has been placed his last two starts this track and trip and only beaten 1.5l at his previous two starts this prep. A model of consistency and looks to have found another suitable race. Maps well from gate 7 and should enjoy a lovely run in behind a genuine temp. He will only need to run up to either of his last two starts to be winning this. Ticks all the box’s and looks hard to beat.

Happy Valley R4 #3 Good Choice 21.00 / 4.60 – Good Choice looks suited by the jump to 1800m here and his big run to finish 3rd two runs back has him right in the mix. His best recent runs have been over the 1800m and current form at the 1650m looks strong. He is rarely far from the cash and has a very good overall win/place strike rate. This race lacks depth and he gets in very well after the claim. Looks massive overs and warrants each/way specking betting up the place.
