AFL Preview – Sunday 18 June – Western Bulldogs vs Melbourne

Western Bulldogs vs Melbourne, Etihad Stadium, Sunday 3:20pm

This shapes as a must win game for both clubs who are only separated by percentage on the AFL ladder. Melbourne sit 7th whilst the Bulldogs sit 9th. Both on 24pts

The Bulldogs are coming off one their poorer recent performances when never in the hunt against Sydney last Thursday night when beaten convincingly by 46pts.
Melbourne on the other hand came from behind on Queens birthday Monday to defeat Collingwood by 4pts in what was one the wins of the season.

Melbourne go in to this game with an unchanged line up whilst the Bulldogs have made 5 changes to their team with the most notable omission Matthew Boyd who has been dropped.

The Bulldogs have had the wood on Melbourne in recent outings winning the last two encounters by 98pts and 32pts respectively,

The Bulldogs will be looking to bounce back today and with this game being played at Etihad stadium it will suit their run and gun style which they will be hoping to produce.
The Bulldogs have won 9 of 15 encounters against Melbourne at Etihad who in recent years have not played well at this venue.

With the pressure applied to the Bulldogs this week after poor recent performance we expect this proud club to bounce back hard, they have had a 9 day break whilst Melbourne have only had a 6 day break.

The return of Tom Boyd, Tom Liberatore and Dale Morris look massive for the Bulldogs with Tom Liberatore having something to prove after recent criticism, he could quite easily be best on ground today.

When its all said and done the Bulldogs should bounce back to winning form today and keep their top 4 hopes alive.

In what should be a cracking game we will be backing the Western Bulldogs to win @ $1.75 (Betfair)
