MLB Baseball Preview – Diamondbacks @ Phillies – Friday 16 June
The Arizona Diamondbacks come into this game with a 41-26 record on the back of a 4 game winning streak after sweeping the Tigers on Wednesday with 2-1 victory in Detroit.
Corbin starts for the Diamondbacks and although seeming out of sorts with an ERA that has sky rocketed from 2.29 in April out to 5.38 in his last 7 outings he suggested he was “locating everything better” after his most recent 5 & 2/3rd innings in Arizona’s demolition of San Diego on 8 June with a 15-3 scoreline. With that in mind he may well have turned the corner.
The Phillies come into this series carrying the worst record in Baseball 22-43. They look to Aaron Nola to sure things up on the mound and he comes into this game with a 4.40 ERA after 8 starts this season.
Phillies manager Pete Mackanin was critical of the 24yo especially when the Phillies fell 6-5 to the Cardinals recently.
Arizona’s record and the fact Corbin feels confident he is putting things together well now gives Arizona the upper hand in this series opener for us so to be getting odds of 2.11 on the money line about Arizona is a luxury.
ARI @ PHI – Back ARI to win (Money line) at odds of 2.11.
