Late Mail Australia for Friday 16 June

Late Mail for Australian racing on Friday is here again to give all the punters out there a bit of a ‘leg-up’  into another good weekend of action.

Geelong R5 #2 Sayasuri 3.30 – bolted in 1st up from a spell over 1000m on the Geelong Synthetic surface by a widening 3.3l last start, that win suggested has come back even better than its recent peak 2 starts prior scoring over 1200m at Moonee Valley by 2l over Sir Mask and Moral Outrage when making all on the front end, big advantage being a horse that has shown ability to win coming from anywhere especially when drawn the 10 alley, drops 1.5kg on last start win, should appreciate the extra 100m, ticks a lot of boxes, currently on offer as a 3.30 chance which is decent overs, we have it rated a clear cut top elect as a 2.60 chance.

Geelong R6 #15 Dame Largo 21.00 / 5.80 – has only won 1 of 43 career starts but placed a further 13 times, has a real affinity for the AW synthetic surfaces as it has shown numerous times including when breaking its maden tag on this track 3 starts ago over 1300m, totally thrown in here at the weights after the claim for Georgina Cartwright, goes around at the silly odds of 21.00 / 5.80, warrants nibbling at on an each way basis as the big value runner in the race, excellent value to place considering AW record having placed 9 of 12 on the synthetic.

Dubbo R5 #2 Annecy 6.50 / 2.40 – well bred type by Sebring out of an Encosta De Lago mare, comes into this race stretching out to 1600m and looking for the trip going on good win over 1300m 2 starts ago when closed off hard from off the pace to get the better of Zardabba and Stormy Benz close home, strong thru the line that day, overall this race lacks some depth and despite being drawn the 16 alley gets every chance here as the one with the potential scope to win above this level, goes around as a 6.50 & 2.40 chance, back each way with a decent degree of confidence.

Gosford R5 #2 Pepperberry 3.20 – comes into this as the lightly raced improver representing the astute Snowden yard, 3rd up into this on the back of finishing 2.4l 5th to Gitan over 1400m at Kembla Grange last time out, only beaten 1,1l by Morton’s Fork in a trial on soft going over 1042m prior to the start of this preparation, has shown plenty of form prior preparations to this to suggest it is in here well weighted despite carrying top weight, very well bred by Redoute’s Choice out of a Singspiel mare who herself finished 3rd in the Pretty Polly Stakes over 10f in the UK at G3 level and is already a stakes producer, ticks all the right boxes, clear cut top elect and we have it rated as a 2.50 chance, goes around as a 3.20 elect, good overs, back with strong confidence as a very hard to beat proposition.

Toowoomba R5 #3 Selfie 5.50 / 1.80 – At peak fitness now and ready to win after not much luck last start when strong over the line. That was over 1400m and the rise to 1600m looks ideal here. Handles all conditions and is a winner 4 times at Toowoomba. Ticks all the box’s here and looks hard to beat.

Gosford R6 #7 Cliveden 4.20 & #11 Love Las Vegas 11.00 / 3.40 – another good value betting affair here, enough depth to back both Cliveden (major elect) 4.20 and Love Las Vegas (minor elect / each way) at 11.00 / 3.40 for a result across the race. Cliveden is a lightly raced improver and very well bred representing the Beadman yard, won on debut last time out and has plenty of scope for more, definite city class on the make, Love Las Vegas is decently bred and hit a new career peak last time out at Kembla Grange scoring by 2l, still lightly raced and good scope for more, back both for a result across the race.

Gosford R7 #5 Never Out 5.50 & #6 Lindy Lou 5.00 – shapes as a race in two mainly between Never Out and Lindy Lou and there is enough value to back both of them with good confidence for a result the race, we rate them a combined 2.00 chance and at together they take up approx 38% of the betting market making them a real 2.60 chance, Never Out rates slightly infront here going on its recent wide margin 4.4l trial win at Wyong, 2nd up from a spell and lightly raced, real sprinting pedigree by Star Witness out of a Rory’s Jester mare, major elect, Lindy Lou has been off the scene since November 2015 but produced a close up 3rd in a trial behind G1 Coolmore 3rd Danish Twist over 800m at Newcastle in preparation for its return here, that was its 2nd trial in preparation from this long lay off, may well be ready 1st up, back in support of Never Out for a result across the race.

Geelong R8 #6 Rouen 3.70 – A Model of consistency this prep and looks to have found a very winnable race. Excellent this track and trip last start when charged late to only just miss. Drops in class here and is drawn to charge late again. Looks a class above these and should prove very hard to beat.

Toowoomba R6 #5 Ruby Guru 9.50 / 2.80 – A Lightly raced filly who is resuming here and is already a winner first up, She won well fresh last prep and then continued to run well throughout that campaign. Drops in grade here and the 1300m first up looks ideal. She has plenty of scope to improve and a big run fresh is expected. She looks the value play at the value price of $9.5 on an each/way basis.
