AFL Preview – Friday 16 June – North Melbourne vs St Kilda

Both teams are coming off big losses, Saints get smashed by Adelaide last week and North Melbourne went into their bye week on the back of a 35 point loss to Richmond.

The Saints looked good early last week but once Adelaide got on top they showed little resistance.

North Melbourne held a 2 point advantage against Richmond at half time but ultimately fell away in the second half and where beaten easily.

North Melbourne have had the wood on St Kilda in recent times but have a different team running out this year after their off season delistings.

The Saints will be looking to bounce back hard after three consecutive losses and will be better for the run last week after coming back from the bye.

North Melbourne will be looking to get off to a good start and should be fresh now after having last week off, but if the saints come out fired up they might just catch North off guard who could be a little slow to get going off the back of the bye.

I like the inclusions for the Saints, Luke Dunstun is a tough in an under who can go head to head with Ben Cunnington, Jack Lonie comes back in off the back of very good VFL form and the big in is that of Nick Riewoldt who could be the difference tonight. Riewoldt gives the Saints versatility which will be handy tonight against North Melbournes talls in Ben Brown and Jarrod Waite.

In what looks an even game on paper we think St Kilda can bounce back to winning form against North Melbourne who might be flat first game back after the bye.
The value betting option is:

St Kilda to win 0-39.5 points @ 2.68 (Betfair)
