Late Mail Australia for Thursday 15 June

Thursday is looking like a potentially strong day of betting action. We will be offering up tips across the course of the day covering Nowra, Taree, Ballarat, Mackay and Pinjarra. Stay tuned throughout the day as we highlight all of the best value and high confidence betting options.

Taree R2 #3 General Artie 4.80 & #6 Poyfection 5.00 – good confidence race in two to kick off the day, General Artie has a good speed pedigree by Artie Schiller out of a General Nediym mare, comes into this race on the back of a hard closing 2nd to Forreel over 1300m at Scone, unlucky not to get the decision that day in a strong form race beaten only 0.1l, sure to have come on since spelling and looks well up to winning in this company, the other one worth backing here is Poyfection who is 2nd up from a spell here on the back of finishing 1.5l 4th over 1000m on this track, came from well off the pace that day and will appreciate the step up to 1250m here, former Victorian who looked very good prior to debut when 2nd to Moonlight Ruby in a trial at Cranbourne, General Artie can be backed as a 4.80 chance whilst Poyfection is a 5.00 chance, across the both of them we are getting combined odds of 2.40 which is decent overs, back with a good degree of confidence for a result across the race.

Nowra R2 #7 Winter Bride 3.40 – very well bred type by Not A Single Doubt out of a 10 time winning Perugino mare, comes into this race having its 2nd career start on the back of finishing 8th beaten 3.3l at Newcastle on debut, battled on ok that day after a tough on pace trip, good hidden merit, given 25 days off into this so fairly confident it has got over that debut run, looked well above average prior to debut winning a strong trial at Randwick in December 2016 followed by another good trial 2nd at Randwick beaten 1.5l by Aeecee Tong De, trial form has it as the clear cut top elect here, we have it rated as a 2.10 chance, on offer at 3.40 which is excellent overs, back with a good degree of confidence.

Taree R4 #10 Dream A Lot 18.00 / 4.40 – debut runner for the astute Milligan yard and deceivingly well bred with a good speed pedigree by Dream Ahead out of an Agnes World mare, sire and dam sire both handled rain effected going, should get through the heavy going ok, was beaten 13l in a trial on this track back in December 2016 but showed very good speed to be on pace, very soft untouched down the stretch run that day as Cogliere and More By Chance spaced the rest by 11l, all the others finishing in a bunch around Dream A Lot were hard at it in deep stretch whilst Dream A Lot got a very soft hand ride, plenty of hidden merit in that trial and on that basis warrants specking each way at the big odds on offer of 18.00 / 4.40, interesting that trainer takes it to a Showcase $40K maiden instead of seeking easier options.

Ballarat R8 #5 Shauquin 3.30 – deceivingly well bred type by Savabeel out of the Pins mare Bejewelled, comes into this race having its 3rd career start on the back of breaking its maiden tag last time out at Bendigo over 1100m by 1.5l over Vanitoso and Aerovictory, form franked to a major degree out of that race with Vanitoso coming out to win on Tuesday at Pakenham on the AW, 3rd home Aerovictory was beaten 6l, draws perfectly in the 1 alley and stretches out to 1200m here 2nd up from a spell, big scope for more now fitter over the extra 100m stepping up to 1200m here, goes around as a 3.30 chance, decent overs on offer, we have it rated a 2.80 chance.
