OK, let’s dig in deep for another session of Late Mail for Australian racing on Tuesday. Our Late Mail sessions are a crowd favorite and today should prove no different.
A core part of our Late Mail is keeping a close eye on our Blackbook database of horses during each day and yesterday was no different as we gave you a closer look at our Blackbooking process landing 3 winners from 7 runners across Monday including an 8/1 pop.
Tamworth R3 #14 Stately Lady 9.00 / 2.70 & #3 Mansab 71.00 / 16.00 – very big value betting affair to kick off the action on Tuesday, backing both Stately Lady (major elect) and Mansab (minor speck elect) both each way for a result across the race, Stately Lady was very good 3 starts ago on this track flashing big closing pars over 1200m when 3rd to Gripped in a race that has since worked out as a strong form reference for the sort of maiden tag level this one takes on here, bred to improve over this extended 1400m trip and racing patterns suggest the same, back as the top elect at 9.00 & 2.70 each way, the other one that warrants specking each way at the very big odds is Mansab, th3 3yo Rothesay gelding is 2nd up into this race having only its 4th career start and he is out of an Octagonal mare, his pedigree screams 1400m-1600m, he was very good in a trial at Cessnock prior to last preparation when a close up 2nd to Buddy Honest, on those pointers he must be included especially at the massive odds on offer of 71.0 & 16.0.
Tamworth R5 #1 Strathaird 4.00 – got a feeling the bookies may have the top end of the betting market the wrong way around here, definite leaning towards Strathaird who can be backed as a 4.00 chance here over the short priced fav Kyrgios which is 2.40. Strathaird has the fitness edge and gets in with the same weight as his major rival here, Strathaird draws perfectly in the 2 alley to secure one of the runs of the race and his wins 2 and 3 starts ago both suggest his form is superior to Kyrgios, add to that he is better bred and Strathaird has Kyrgios covered in most conceivable relevant areas, we have him clear top rated as a 2.70 chance here so to get 4.00 about Strathaird is very good overs, back with a good degree of confidence.
Tamworth R6 #9 Peggy’s Cove 5.00 & #10 Zarabeel 41.0) / 10.50 – another big value betting affair here with Peggy’s Cove the top elect as a 5.00 chance whilst we can also nibble at Zarabeel on an each way basis at the big odds of 41.0 & 10.5 for a result across the race, we’ve already nailed one race like this today, no reason we can’t do it again! Peggy’s Cove is unlucky not to have won 3 of its last 4, only blowsed by Mosgiel Rubyo outside of 2 other wins in last 4 starts, form references reads clearly best of these, drawn for a gun run, Perry trained, ticks the right boxes when you read it like that, back to win with decent confidence as the major elect at the 5.00 on offer, also worth nibbling each way at 41.00 and 10.50 each way chance Zarabeel, penny dropped big time 5 starts ago winning by 10.3l at Armidale over 1900m, franked the form winning 2 of next 3, some will see this as too short, gets mile written into its pedigree being out of an O’Reilly mare, nibble at each way in support of the top elect.
