Blackbook Best for Monday 5 June

Our Blackbook is a consistent source of good quality winners for our Australian racing followers and Monday shapes up as being no different with a number of good value chances engaged to go around on what is shaping up as another good start to a new week of punting action on

Goulburn R1 #9 Mad Fox 3.70 – overly well bred type by Foxwedge out of the Fusaichi Pegasus mare Wild Soiree, on debut here after winning a good trial at Rosehill on 8 May by 3.8l over Silence & Flying Magic, treated them with total contempt that day and looked city class on the make as a minimum, gets into a relatively weak maiden here outside of it major adversary in the betting being the odds on pop Acquittal but it is Mad Fox that does seem to tick a few more boxes so at the 3.70 on offer it does shape as good value, we have it rated as a 2.30 top elect.

Goulburn R3 #2 Peranto 7.00 / 3.00 – good hidden merit associated to this blackbook runner, has been below par 3 starts so far this time in work but showed the right signs last time when only beaten 2l whilst trying to make all, former Kiwi who had the race form in NZ and has the subsequent trial form here in Australia to suggest it is well up to winning in this company, if there is a chink in the armor of the odds on favorite Mulu Magic then it will be Peranto that exposes it, excellent value as a 7.00 / 3.00 solid each way chance, worth noting only 2 place dividends this race but even then the 3.00 for a 1st/2nd place finish is excellent insurance!

Pinjarra R1 #3 Everasready 2.30 – a small 5 horse field here and there is only 2 runners in the betting market with this one being offered up as a 2.30 chance which is very good odds, drops back in class from 6th and 5th place finishes at Ascot last 2 starts and those efforts were on the back of a very good win 1st up over this track and distance in a race where the form has worked out exceptionally well since and there is no reason to think this 3yo More Than Ready gelding who is out of the good broodmare Gibraltar Diva (Rock Of Gibraltar) doesn’t have even more to offer yet, the clear cut top elect for us and we have it rated as a 1.70 chance so to be getting 2.30 is a very good price about one of the stronger confidence win betting propositions around on the day.

Goulburn R4 #4 Danzie 3.70 – debut runner for the astute Bjorn Baker yard and gets blinkers 1st time, won a trial in impressive fashion at Randwick in preparation for debut here over Gracious Grey & Shackleton, the fact this 3yo Fastnet Rock gelding is making his debut here over 1300m adds to the confidence considering he is out of a smart Zabeel mare Zarzuela who won 4 from 10 in her short career including three Group races on end, on the other hand the odds on favorite has finished 2nd 3 times on end in its short career and looks to have had its fair share of chances, back Danzie with a decent degree of confidence at the 3.70 on offer.

Goulburn R5 #7 Foxteller 3.60 – hard to go past the chances of the lightly tried Foxwedge 3yo gelding Foxteller here who comes into this race having its 9th career start, go on maiden win 3 starts ago over this trip at Mudgee when making all, tough on the front end that day and form references stack up out of the race strongly, only needs to bring that level here and will prove super hard to hold out, drawn perfectly in the 4 alley to sucre one of the runs of the race, ticks all the right boxes, excellent value being offered as a 3.70 chance, we have it rated clear cut on top as a 2.30 chance, back with a good degree of confidence at the good overs on offer as one of the better value vs confidence bets of the day.

Cessnock R6 #6 Chastity Strikes 7.50 / 2.40 – well bred Smart Missile 3yo filly from the astute Kris Lees yard, has been mixing form 3 starts so far this preparation but showed enough with a hard closing 3rd 2 starts ago over 1100m at Port Macquarie that it is well up to winning a race of this level, stretches out to 1350m for the 1st time and likely to hit a new career peak being suited over the longer trip, high merit trial winner over Our Girl Charlie with a 9.8l margin back to 3rd in October 2016, looks midweek city class potentially, you cant say that about the others in this field, excellent value as a 7.50 & 2.40 chance, we have it top rated around the 4.20 mark. Excellent value vs confidence as a Place betting proposition at the 2.40 on offer aswell.

Northam R4 #9 Bella’s Keeper 8.00 / 2.40 – deceivingly well bred type by Scandal Keeper (Danzig) out of a Jeune mare, comes into this on the back of winning a trial at Lark Hill over 930m, form references out of that trial read strong, also has very good trial form in its profile prior to debut close up 2nd to Whispering Brook followed by a win over La Bionda, gets in very well weighted with only 53kg after the claim for Fiona Bell, excellent value here on the 8.00 / 2.40 line of betting, back each way with a decent degree of confidence.
