As we move through a large selection of races on Saturday afternoon in Australia we plan on loading you up with a few good quality betting angles to play.
Gold Coast R3 #12 Alastriona 4.40 – good speed pedigree by Pluck out of a Zedative mare and comes into this race 1st up from a spell on the back of winning a trial by 7.5l at the Gold Coast in very quick time, also showed well above average trial form in Sydney before start of first preparation, debuted in the Silver Goblet at Narromine so connections obviously had an impression of it based on what it had shown initially, draws perfectly and gets in very well weighted with only 52kg, ticks all the right boxes for a 4.40 chance, if it reproduces that recent trial form it will win with a bit in hand.
Doomben R3 #1 High Midnight 3.30 – 5yo High Chaparral gelding who is 2nd up from a spell here on the back of a very good 2nd to proven sprinter Jungle Edge in the G3 BRC Sprint, this is clearly easier and also will derive a lot of benefit for the step out in trip to 1630m, overall depth of this field is not great and this one only need to hold its current level to prove very hard to hold out, every chance it will improve again, minor overs on offer as a 3.30 chance and clear cut top elect.
Morphettville R3 #11 Alta Stella 3.70 – well bred lightly raced improver by Star Witness out of a Euclase mare who comes into this race on the back of breaking its maiden tag last time out over 1050m at Balaklava by 1.2l over Swiss Design with a further big margin back to 3rd and 4th adding good depth to the form coming out of that race, perfectly suited here under the race / pace scenario drawn down in the 2 alley and gets in relatively well weighted dropping 0.5kg to 55kg on the back of that impressive maiden win, scope for plenty more and clear cut top elect as a 3.70 chance in betting, decent overs as we have it rated 3.10, should prove very hard to beat.
Coffs Harbour R3 #2 More Danger 3.30 – lightly raced improver with a good speed pedigree by More Than Ready out of a Red Ransom mare who herself was a wide margin 1 from 5 winner over this same trip, forgive run last time out as a 2.50 favorite, had genuine excuses, very good effort when basically making all 2 starts ago 1st up from a spell over 1050m at Oakbank, that race is clearly stronger than what it faces here and 3rd up now off a 28 day freshen should be ready to hit that level as a minimum again, looks the clear cut top elect and class runner with good scope for further improvement to come, we have it rated as 2.20 so the 3.20 on offer is excellent value, high confidence win betting proposition.
Doomben R5 #14 Snitty Kitty 4.50 – another one that is well in the market here but deservedly so, this lightly tried Snitzel 3yo filly put the writing on the wall 3 starts ago when 2nd up into this preparation beaten only 0.5l by smart type Merriest over 1100m at Caulfield when trying to make all, she came on again next time out franking that form to a major degree winning by 2.2l turning the tables on Merriest back in 3rd, last start she was a good 2nd in a strong edition of the Listed Denise’s Joy at Scone, she draws perfectly and gets into a race here that is not an overly strong Listed race, as a 4.50 chance in betting markets she is decent overs, we have her rated as a 3.60 chance.
